Knit Picks' new collection Woodsmoke

Have you been looking for THE perfect cable project to knit? Me too.

Imagine yourself lakeside, snuggled up under a warm blanket as you sip a cup of tea and watch the sun set. Woodsmoke Cable Collection will transport you there with projects full of rich textures, deep colors, and a new twist on traditional cables. Be inspired to go on an exciting knitting adventures as you cast on sweaters, blankets, and wraps that elevate the art of the cable. ~ from Knit Picks.

Doesn't that just set the mood? <sigh>

When I saw Knit Picks’ Woodsmoke Cable Collection, with patterns from the collection all over Ravelry, I was instantly smitten by all the cable-y, textured goodness. It's been cold here in New England and it is definitely time for some cozy warm cables to keep toasty warm. So, yay! for perfect timing.

About the collection.

There are so many great designs in this collection. You will want to knit every single one of them. Don't say didn't warn you.

The Woodsmoke Cable Collection contain 16 patterns. There are 8 sweaters (pullovers, cardigans, and vest - worked bottom up, in the round, flat in pieces, etc., you name it, it's there), 2 shawls, 2 hats, 2 blankets/afghans, 1 poncho, and 1 pillow.

Like I’ve come to expect from Knit Picks over the years, the pattern instructions are clearly written with charts and schematics. The sweaters are available in a large range of sizes. The added construction details are fun and not-so typical. So there is some interesting techniques to look forward to.

The collection is chockfull of beautiful photography that are not only stylistic and visually appealing, yes, they are pretty, but they also clearly show off the design detail of each piece.
Side tangent: I hate when patterns have weird angles and even weirder poses by the models that distract from what I want to see. The knitting of course. This collection does none of that weird stuff, but all the things we love and want.

The patterns range in difficulty. If you are a new to cables and just wanting to try out the technique on a small project, there are the Cabled Trellis Pillow and Kildlton Hat. But if you are ready to take things up a notch and you are ready for a challenge, there is the Morning Ramble Cardigan that has tons of cables and steeks. Yes, steeks! How cool is that?! <head blown>

The bottom line, you gotta go check out this collection.

Now for the fun bit. The team over at Knit Picks has been so generous. They have given me a digital copy of the collection to review (done) and to giveaway (you do your part below). How amazing are they, right?!
