These types of shawls and scarves are fun and versatile. They can be adaptable to any amount and any weight of yarn, using up every bit of yarn. This was the inspiration for my new design, Easy Boomerang.
The Easy Boomerang is a sport weight shawl/scarf worked using a single skein of Mrs Crosby Hat Box in colorway Boston Fern. The shawl/scarf is worked sideways, starting with a few stitches, increasing every other row, repeating 2 easy very rows until only enough yarn remain to fasten off.
Mrs Crosby Hat Box is a lush 317yds/100g (75% Merino, 15% Silk, and 10% Cashmere) yarn. The sample is worked in Boston Fern, a variegate/semi-solid colorway with beautiful depths of colors, perfect for the stitches used in this pattern.
The Easy Boomerang is a fast, easy, and addicting shawl. Use any weight and quantity of yarn in your stash. Just work in pattern until you run out of yarn. The sample photographed uses a single skein of 100g sport weight yarn.
Skill Level: Advance Beginner/Intermediate/Easy
Finish Measurement: 68” x 19” (blocked)
PATTERN NOTES
The shawl is worked sideways, increasing every other row. To keep track of your rows, use a removable stitch marker to denote side of your work. Pattern is repeated until you have enough yarn left to fasten off and weave in ends.
