How to stop struggling to bring in more consistent pattern sales

Hey,

Tian here.

I was thinking about you and wanted to share this with you because I know designing can be stressful and the new year is a time for really looking at the past year and setting new goals, so many this will help you rock your 2019 because I truly want to see you win.

When I first started designing, I offered my patterns for less than what other designers were selling similar designs and I thought that knitters and crocheters would simply find me on Ravelry and Etsy... you know, if you build it they will come but they didn't!

For a really long time, I couldn't gain dreamy customers... I was producing patterns like crazy but not making any sales. And when I found my first customers, it was like magic. The heavens opened.

I was so excited when she downloaded the pattern. But at the same time I was thinking:
"Where is the next customer coming from?

I had no idea... I needed a plan to make consistent sales and grow my design business.

After many years of trial and errors, I created the very simply Pattern Launch Plan that now brings in consistent customers. I teach this to other crochet and knitwear designers, and they use it to connect with their dreamiest customers, consistently.

So, I am sharing the Pattern Launch Plan Roadmap where I reveal the blueprint to consistent sales. And it's FREE!

If you are struggling to bring in more consistent pattern sales, you probably know how frustrating it can be, right?

But then I started a new approach... And this system just works!

And you know what, I'm giving it to you.

This roadmap will show you how to launch your next pattern to attract dreamy knitters and crocheters to you so you can do what you do best!

Are you freaking out yet about your long list of holiday knitting and crochet?

Hello friend,

How is your December going? Are you freaking out yet about your long list of holiday knitting and crochet?

Yes, girl! I feel your pain.

Well, I know how stressful this time of year can be, so take a few minutes to just sit and flip through a new knitting book and think about selfishly knitting for yourself when you’re done with all the holiday stitching.

I am so thrilled to share with you that this week I received my contributor copy of Gradient Style for which my new pattern, Chevron Cowl, is included. This is a new book from Interweave featuring color-shifting techniques and knitting patterns. Beyond the visually stunning with absolutely gorgeous patterns, it starts with an article, “Getting Started with Gradient”, written by Emma Welford. The article goes into basics such as choosing colors, which I have the most difficult time with and more in-depth topics of colorwork and color placement. book.

What I love most about this book is that there is something for every type of knitter and skill level. Whether you are a beginner knitter or looking for a design that makes you think about every row.  The book features 19 patterns from some of your favorite designers like Susanna IC, Stella Egidi, and so many more (eep… I am so thrilled to be included among these amazing designers!). The book includes easy to complete patterns such as my Chevron Cowl and Spring Colors Tee to more advanced designs like Colorwork Roses Socks and Flame Lace Shawl.

When the holiday knitting is over, if you’re like me, you’ll be ready for some selfish knitting. How about a New Year’s Eve Cast-on for the Chevron Cowl?

I
nterested?

Join me over on my Instagram (instagram.com/knitdesignsbytian/) where I will be casting on for the Chevron Cowl and knitting the pattern in January. If you are in, grab some yarn and needle and get ready to cast-on on Dec 31st, tagging me on social @KnitDesigns by Tian using hashtag #ChevronCowl #GradientStyle

Now, go to Ravelry and support the designers. Favorite and queue the patterns, then go get a copy of the book.
Treat yo self!

No one talks about the business side of designing

No one talks about the business side of designing... but I am!

With any craft, if you want to leave that hobby stage to become a business, you gotta make a profit.

If you’re not making a profit...you’re not a business.

Stop playing small
🛑. There is so much more for you!
Many of you are wishing and hoping. You're dependent on the first 24-hours of your pattern hitting Ravelry to generate sales; knitters and crocheters find you.

You can’t just depend on sales from your pattern hitting Ravelry’s “recently added patterns” list.
🤞🏾
That’s not a strategy.

What are go going to do in a week when the pattern gets buried on page #50 of the list?

No one is scrolling that deep to buy!
You, my friend, need a launch plan for your pattern release.

You need to create a strategy that will help you generate sales way after your pattern launch because let's be real here, that's how you make money with your patterns.

I know it’s not easy, it will be a struggle. But I’m here to help shift your mindset from crafter to entrepreneurs because there is a different set of thinking that needs to happen to take you from where you currently are to where you wanna be!

What are you struggling with in your knitwear and crochet business?

Please share.
Maybe I can help or someone else can point you in the right direction.
